Cheeky Corn Puree
- 75g sweetcorn
- 100g carrot peeled and diced
- 350g potato peeled and diced
- 1 small onion
- 450ml full fat milk
- put all the ingredients except the sweetcorn into a pan
- bring to the boil and then cover and simmer for 10 minutes
- add the sweetcorn and simmer for a further 5 minutes
- puree using a blender or by pushing through a sieve
- add extra milk if needed to improve the consistency
Baby's Vegetable Patch Puree
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1potato,
- 1 carrot peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon peas
- 2 tablespons sweetcorn
- heat the oil and add the carrot, fry slowly till soft
- add the remaining vegetables with 4 tablespoons of water
- bring to the boil then cover and simmer for around 15 minutes
- puree using a blender or by pushing through a sieve
Baby's Root Veggie Puree
- 200g parsnip
- 200g carrot
- 200g swede peeled and cubed
- 300g potato peeled and cubed
- 300ml full fat milk
- 150ml water
- place all ingredients in a sauce pan (saving 1/3 milk)
- bring to the boil then cover and simmer for around 20 minutes
- puree using a blender or pushing thorugh a sieve
- use extra milk to improve consistency of puree if necessary
Colourful CousCous
Suitable for the older child but not suitable for freezing!
- 1/2 pepper finely diced
- 50g courgettes finely diced
- 50g green beans finely sliced
- 50g sweetcorn
- handful peas
- 100g couscous
- handful sultanas
- 250ml boiling water
- squeeze orange juice
- steam all vegetables for 5 minutes or until tender
- put couscous in a bowl, cover with boiling water and leave for 5 mintes
- puree vegetables to desired texture add to couscous, fluuf up with a fork and add a squeeze of juice
