Topping and tailing enables you to clean your baby without having to give them a bath.
What Do I Need To Top And Tail My Baby?
The equipment needed to top and tail your baby:
- top and tail bowl
- cooled, boiled water
- cotton wool
- towel
- changing mat
- clean nappy and clothes
How Do I Top And Tail My Baby?
Step 1
Lay your baby on the changing mat, dip the cotton wool into the water and wipe your baby’s eye from the inner corner outwards.
Step 2
Using another piece of cotton wool dipped in water wipe your baby’s neck and face. Ensure that you get into all the folds and crease of the neck and ears.
Step 3
Undress your baby and remove their nappy. Clean their bottom and replace the nappy with a clean one.
Step 4
Clean your baby’s hands, feet and under the arms with clean cotton wool. Pat your baby dry and dress in clean clothes
