What Is An Acceptable Weight Gain In Pounds For A Single Pregnancy?
- Thirty to forty pounds if you are underweight when you get pregnant
- Twenty five to thirty five pounds if you are a normal weight when you get pregnant
- Fifteen to twenty five pounds if you are overweight when you get pregnant
What Is An Acceptable Weight Gain In Pounds For a Multiple Pregnancy?
- Forty to fifty pounds if you are underweight when you get pregnant
- Thirty five to forty five pounds if you are a normal weight when you get pregnant
- Twenty five to thirty five pounds if you are overweight when you get pregnant
This additional weight will be spread all over the body as follows:
- Baby - Seven and a half pounds
- Uterus – Two pounds
- Placenta – one and a half pounds
- Breasts – two pounds
- Blood and fluids – eight pounds
- Fat – seven pounds
