Series Of New Parenting Booklets

Who Has Produced These Booklets?

The Department for Education and Skills has created a series of twenty nine booklets addressing a range of topical parenting issues. They will be available in branches of Asda nationwide.

What Are The Booklets About?

They cover a range of topics including:-

• Bullying
• The fathers role in parenting
• Eating
• Homework
• Staying healthy

Charities including Fathers Direct, Parentline and the National Family and Parenting Institute have contributed to the materials. The booklets are part of a £900,000 awareness and educational campaign designed to help with parenting issues around health and education.

The leaflets most appropriate for toddlers and small children include:-

•            Your Child's Learning & Development (0 to 5 years)

•            Making Childcare Choices

•            Applying For Tax Credits & Other Financial Help For Your Children
