A Place In History For 2012 Babies
More than 250 babies born on 20 December 2004 have been reserved a very special role in the celebrations if London's bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games is successful. Proud parents all over the UK have registered '2012 Day' babies with the London 2012 Children's Promise, which pledges a role in the official ceremonies for every baby born on 20 December 2004.
The children, who will be seven years old in 2012, could feature in the Opening or Closing Ceremonies, the Official Team Welcome Ceremonies or the programme of cultural events that would take place across the summer of 2012.

Rangiataura Te Awatea Penny and Rangiatamea Te Kohu Fiona Wallace were among the first babies to be born on 2012 Day, arriving at 12.06am and 12.08am respectively. The twins - one of three pairs who have already been registered with London 2012 - were born at St George's Hospital in Tooting, South London. Dad Nathan said: "We have always been right behind the bid, and I'm sure the babies would be too, if they knew what was in store for them."
Lilliana Morgan Kilshaw was born at Llandough Hospital in Wales, where another mum-to-be had told her parents about the London 2012 Children's Promise. Proud mum Anne said: "I went to an appointment two days before and somebody else at the hospital told me about it. "Since then lots of people have told me about it, and everyone has been getting very excited."
Meanwhile, new mum Joss McLeod had two reasons to celebrate 2012 Day - baby son Magnus shares a 20 December birthday with his mother.
There's still time to register babies born on 20 December 2004 for the London 2012's Children's Promise.
Registrations can be emailed to childrenspromise@london2012.com or posted to London 2012, The Pink Centre, 2a Tinworth Street, London SE11 5EJ
