The History Of Fathers Day

The celebration of Fathers Day was meant to have originated in the USA, back in 1910. The idea of Fathers Day came from a woman who wanted a special day to honour her father. In 1924 it was decided that the third Sunday in June was to be Fathers Day as this was her fathers birthday month and this was supported by President Calvin Coolidge. But it wasn’t until 1966 when a proclamation was signed officially declaring the third Sunday of June Fathers Day.
