Empty a bag of cotton wool balls into a large bowl and place another empty bowl beside it. The object of the game is for each guest to try to spoon out as many balls from the first bowl into the second in one minute. They have to use a wooden spoon and a blindfold. Whoever transfers the most wins.
Each guest brings a photograph of themselves as a baby. The photographs are attached to a board or wall and numbered. Each guest then has to try to link the photograph to the correct guest. Whoever guesses the most correctly wins
Each guest is given ten safety pins hooked into a safety pin which they can attach to their clothing. Every time the word “baby” is said in conversation they forfeit a pin. Whoever has the most safety pins left at the end of the baby shower wins
Ten “baby” items ( baby dummy, teddy bear, board book) are placed in a cloth bag. Each guest has two minutes to feel the contents of the bag from the outside and write down what they think is in there. Whoever guesses the most correctly wins.
This is a variation of “Pin The Tail On The Donkey” Each guest is blindfolded and asked to place a cut out baby inside the outline of a pregnant mummy . the most accurately placed baby wins.
Each guest cuts a piece of thread or string to the length of the circumference of the mother-to-be’s pregnant belly. Whoever’s string is the closest length wins.
Guests have five minutes to list every song they can think of with “baby” in the title. Sounds easy? Give It A Try
Ten little jars of baby food are opened, their labels covered and numbered and the guests have to guess the baby food flavour based on smell, taste and appearance. Whoever makes the most correct guesses wins.
Produce some cards with baby activities written on them “burping the baby” “rocking the baby to sleep” and “ changing baby’s nappy” for example. Divide the guests into two teams and let each person take a card and act out the activity. The team with the most correct guesses win.
Make up some grids with “baby words” written in each square. This game then works exactly like Bingo! As soon as the first person completes a line and then a complete grid they shout “Baby!”
Sound easy? Then add a five minute time limit and ask everyone to write down their list.
Make up some baby bottles with regular milk or juice and time your guests to see who can suck their bottle empty first.
Test your memory, read out some lines from classic nursery rhymes and children’s songs and ask your guests to write down the next lines. Whoever remembers the most wins!
